Meet Megan

Megan is a holistic nutritionist serving the Stoney Creek and Hamilton community with holistic nutritional consulting.

Megan has been able to heal and manage her autoimmune diseases, celiac disease and hashimoto’s thyroiditis, using nutrition, lifestyle and holistic mindset approaches. She understands that while intensive healing protocols are extremely effective, they are only worth it if they are not causing additional stress and one can still live their life to the fullest. Happiness is a key to health as well! So, Megan adapts challenging protocols to meet you where you’re at and make them achievable for you and your lifestyle. Megan’s combination of personal experience and education makes her the ideal nutritionist to help you conquer your autoimmune conditions too!

Megan believes using food as medicine in a realistic holistic way that will lead to healing, health & sustainable change.

Hobbies and Interests
  • "I love hockey. I played defense since I was a kid. My idol was Bobby Orr, and I’ve always been a huge leaf fan. Now my favorite player is Morgan Rielly (I think he should have been captain). I am also a bit of a comic book nerd. I grew up learning how to read with my Dad’s Spiderman comics. I love cooking, developing new delicious and nutritious recipes and reading all the nutrition and health sciences books, along with the occasional Femme forward book from Reese’s Book Club ;) I also love yoga, running, meditation and journaling. Oh… and I am part of the not-for-profit theater company that puts on a comedy show every summer to raise money for local charities, it’s called Players Toronto. I used to be an actor/singer!"

Professional Affiliations
Academic History
  • University of Toronto and graduated with a BA(Hons).

  • Institute of Holistic Nutrition (Toronto) - Applied Holistic Nutrition advanced diploma

    • IHN’s Diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition is recognized and approved by two of Canada’s respected educational standards bodies: the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC) and the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP). The designation CNP is earned exclusively by graduates of IHN.

Continuing Education and Professional Development
  • Certified Autoimmune Protocol Coach

    • Studied autoimmune wellness with Dr. Sarah Ballantyne to learn the science behind the pathology of autoimmune disease and how it can be managed with diet, lifestyle and mindset.

  • Continuing education courses in Applied Endocrinology with IHN.

Fun Fact about  Megan!
  • Megan still has a hard time explaining to her big Irish family that she can’t have a beer with them because of her celiac disease! Instead, they bond over hockey. Megan played hockey all her life and is a huge leafs fan. Her two front teeth are fake, but not because of a hockey fight, because of bone loss complications due to undiagnosed celiac disease. When her autoimmune diseases were at their worst, Megan found comfort in comic books and sunflowers… a little bit of yellow and a Spiderman comic makes it hard to be unhappy!

COVID Update

Megan continues to provide consults by phone or video call to help reduce patient traffice in the clinic during the stage 1 re-opening phase. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to connecting with you virtually!
