DIY Bug Repellent

Here’s my favorite 'do-it-yourself' insect repellent spray for anyone looking for a safer alternative this summer ☀️. One batch makes about 250mL. I source many of my oils and ingredients in bulk from a Mississauga company called New Directions Aromatics in case you are looking to get crafting in bulk! Otherwise most are widely available at health food stores or health sections of grocery stores. Enjoy!

  • 30 drops Geranium essential oil

  • 30 drops Citronella essential oil

  • 20 drops Eucalyptus essential oil

  • 20 drops Lavender essential oil

  • 10 drops Rosemary essential oil

  • 1 tbsp rubbing alcohol or vodka

  • 1/2 cup witch hazel

  • 1/2 cup water

  • optional 1 tsp of glycerin

  • Mix all the ingredients in an 8oz bottle and mix well. Add to spray bottle of your choice.

  • Shake well before use. Apply liberally.
