Hormone Testing Explained

Hormones are the key messengers between the brain and the body. The brain communicates commands to various organs through stimulation of hormone releases. Hormones are important for various body processes like growth, cell repair, appetite, metabolism, fertility, reproduction and pain regulation. Any excess or deficiency can contribute to a variety of symptoms and health concerns.

Hormone deficiencies play a key role in the aging process. Critical hormones such as DHEA, testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone progressively decline as you get older.

Salivary and urinary hormone testing is considered to be more accurate than blood hormone testing, since saliva reflects the level of free/active hormones. Blood level hormones are bound and inactive.
